While this book does not have the editorial recommendation of the Book Supply of being correct, Harry Whittaker’s method of understanding the Scriptures is one of the best available. His approach will definitely help our study of the book, whether or not we agree with his approach and conclusions. If someone cares to disagree with his conclusions, they must answer his arguments!
Harry Whittaker affords different answers to the problems of the standard interpretation of the book of Revelation. While many Christadelphians spend little time ”studying” the book of Revelation, they often spend much time studying books on the book of Revelation. Like many of his contemporaries, Harry Whittaker uses the many mistakes of ”Eureka” to come with a totally new interpretation of the Book.
His approach is to use the Bible to interpret itself. His goal was stated in the preface: ”if this book succeeds in stimulating more eager study of Revelation, if it creates in some minds a great sense of urgency regarding the Lord’s returned, it has fulfilled its purposes.”
Our community has often tried to stifle alternate views on the Book of Revelation. This only has lead to defending different brother’s interpretations rather than analyzing the various approaches and determining their accuracy. We carry this book in the hope it helps people study the actual text, and analysis what is true about the book of Revelation.
